The concentration of hydroxal ions is [OH-] = 0.007

Formula to calculate pH:  

pH + pOH = 14

pOH = - log[OH-]

      = - log [0.007]

      = - log [7 x 10 ^3]

      = - (log7 - 3log 10)

      =  3 log10 - log 7  (log 10 = 1)

      =  3 x1 - 0.8451 = 3 - 0.8451

  pOH  = 2.1549

Hence the value of pOH is  2.1549. Now put in the above equation to calculate pH.

   pH + pOH = 14

   pH = 14 - pOH

   pH = 14 - 2.1549 = 11. 8451  

   pH = 11.84
