Answer:

Potential ENERGY =mgh

Here m= mass of the body,

g= gravitational constant ie, 9.8 m/s2

h = height

So 50*9.8*10==4900 joule

Answer:

Given :-

  • A body of mass 50 kg situated at a height of 10 m.

To Find :-

  • What is the potential energy.

Formula Used :-

P.E = mgh

where,

  • P.E = Potential Energy
  • m = Mass
  • g = Acceleration due to gravity
  • h = Height

Solution :-

Given :

  • Mass = 50 kg
  • Acceleration due to gravity = 9.8 m/s²
  • Height = 10 m

According to the question by using the formula we get,

P.E = 50 × 9.8 × 10

P.E = 490 × 10

P.E = 4900 J

The potential energy of a body is 4900 J .
