  • Power=work/time   Here work is the potential energy of body   Hence,power=mgh/t                       =100×9.8×10/20                        =9800/20                        =490 watt                          =0.49 Kw

\bold{\underline{Solution:-}}

Given that,

Mass m = 100 kg

Height h = 10 m

Time t = 20 s

We know that,

The power is defined as:

P = \bold{\frac{w}{t}}

.........eq.(I)

Here, W= work done

t= time

We know that,

The work done is

W = mgh

= 100 × 9.8 × 10

= 9800 J

Put the value of W in equation (I)

The power is

= 9800 / 20

= 490 watt

Hence, The power of a crane is 490 watt.
