calculate the power of an electric devices which has voltage rating of 250V and the current rating of 2A and also calculate energy consumed if device is used for 3 min.​

Power of Electric Device

Energy consumed in 3 minutes by device

Formula

P = V * I

E = P * t

where,

P = Power in Watts

V = Voltage in Volts

I = Current in Ampere

E = Energy in Joules

t = Time in seconds

Solving

Power

P = V * I

P = 250 * 2

P = 500 Watt

or

P = 0.5 KWh

Energy consumed

Here, time is 3 minutes.

So, 3 minutes in seconds is

3 * 60 seconds = 180 seconds

E = P * t

E = 500 * 180

E = 9 * 10⁴ Joules

Answer

So, Power of Electric Device is 500 Watts and Energy consumed by it in 3 minutes is

9 * 10⁴ Joules.
