Calculate the power used in the 2 Ω resistor in each of the following circuits:; (i) a 6V battery in series with 1 Ω and 2 Ω resistors.; (ii) a 4 V battery in parallel with 12 Ω and 2Ω resistors.

(i) Req = 1+2=3ohm

P=v²/r

=6²/3

=36/3

=12 watt

(ii) 1/Req = 1/12+1/2

=1+6/12

= 7/12

Req=12/7

Power = 4²/12/7

= 16×7/12

=28/3 watt
