Calculate the pressure exerted by a brick which applies a force of 2.5 N, when
(a) Its placed on its widest base
(b) It is placed upright on the soil
The length, breadth and height of the brick are shown in the figure given below.

a) pressure = force/area

=(2.5×10000)/250 ( area is converted from cms to m)

=100 pascal

b)pressure =force/area

=(2.5×10000)/50

=500 pascal
