Pressure = Force / Area
= 600 / 0.01
= 60000/1
= 60000 Pascals

hope this helps

The pressure exerted by a person weighing 600N sitting on a chair with total area of contact on the chair being 0.01m square is 60000 N/m².

Given:

person weighing 600N sitting on a chair with total area of contact on the chair being 0.01m square

To find:

Calculate the pressure exerted

Solution:

The force delivered perpendicularly to an object's surface per unit area across which that force is dispersed is known as pressure.

We have surface area and weight and we have to apply the formula

Force = 600N

Area = 0.01 m²

Pressure = Force/area

= 600/0.01

= 600 *100

= 60000 N/m².

Hence, the pressure exerted is 60000 N/m².
