Answer :

Volume of ethene = 2.24L

Mass of ethene = 10g

Temperature = 100°C = 373K

We have to find pressure.

In order to find pressure, first we need to find number of moles of ethene.

Mole is defined as the ratio of mass of compound to the molar mass.

★ Molar mass of ethene :

➝ 2(C) + 4(H)

➝ 2(12) + 4(1)

➝ 24 + 4

➝ 28 g/mol

Moles of ethene :

➝ n = 10/28

n = 0.36

Pressure can be calculated by using ideal vas equation. PV = nRT

  • P denotes pressure
  • V denotes volume
  • n denotes number of moles
  • R denotes gas constant
  • T denotes temperature

➠ PV = nRT

➠ P × 2.24 = 0.38 × 0.082 × 373

➠ P = 11.62/2.24

P = 5.18 atm
