Given:-

  • Force acting on box (F) = 40N.

  • Length of box (l) = 5cm

  • breadth of box (b) = 4cm.

To Find:-

  • Pressure (P).

Solution:-

Firstly we calculate the area of box .As we know that

Area of box = length×breadth

Put the value which is given above

⟹ Area of box = 5×4

⟹ Area of box = 20cm²

1 = 10000c

⟹Area of box = 20/10000= 2/1000m²

Now, we calculate the pressure

⟹ Pressure = Force/Area

Put the value which is given above

⟹ P =F/A

⟹P = 40×1000/2

⟹P = 40000/2

⟹P = 20000 Pa.

The pressure acting on the box is 20000 Pascal.

Additional Information!!!

✧ Product of mass and acceleration is called force.

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀OR

A push or pull of an object is called force.

✧ SI unit of Force is Newton.

✧ It is denoted by N.

✧ Force is vector Quantity i.e., both Magnitude and direction.

✧ Mathematical term

Force = Mass×Acceleration
