Calculate the pressure produced by a force of 450 N acting on an area of 5 m²​

Solution:

We know the formula:

Pressure = Force ÷ Area

⇒ Pressure = 450 N ÷ 5 m²

⇒ Pressure = 450 ÷ 5 N/m²

⇒ Pressure = 90 N/m²

⇒ Pressure = 90 Pa (∵ N/m² = Pa)

∴ Pressure exerted = 90 Pa
