we have to calculate the quantity of iodine taken to dispense compound power with half Oz boric acid containing 1 % of iodine.

solution : we know 1 Oz = 28.35 gram

so, half Oz = 14.175 gram

a/c to question,

boric acid contains 1 % of iodine.

so, in half Oz boric, mass of iodine = 1 % of half Oz

= 1 % of 14.175 g

= 1 × 14.175/100

= 0.14175 g = 141.75 mg

Therefore 141.75 mg of iodine should be taken to dispense compound power with half Oz boric acid containing 1 % of iodine.
