Answer:

Diameter of cylinder =8.4m

Radius =4.2 m

Height =5.4 m

Total surface area of cylinder =2πr(r+h)=253.44m

2

Wasted metal sheet =

15

×253.44=16.896m

Total metal sheet required =253.44+16.896=270 m

Answer:

Thanks for your question...

Your required answer :

  • Total surface area of cylinder =
  • 2 π r ( r + h )

Given ,

  • Radius =
  •  \frac{8.4}{2}
  • 4.2 cm

  • Height =
  • 84 cm

Now T . S . A . ,

  • 2  \times  \frac{22}{7}  \times  \frac{42}{10} (4.2 + 84)
  • 2 \times  \frac{22}{7}  \times  \frac{42}{10}  \times  \frac{882}{10}
  •  \frac{132 \times 882}{50}
  •  \frac{116424}{50}
  • 2,328.48 \: cm {}^{2}

Now , to find the the quantity of metal sheet that would be required to make 51 cylindrical cans multiply the TSA of cylinder with 51 :

  • 2,328.48 × 51
  • 118,752.48 cm of metal sheet is required to make 51 cylinder
