Answer :

A charged particle of charge q is projected perpendicular to a magnetic field of intensity B at a speed B.

We have to find radius of circular path.

★ In a perpendicular magnetic field, the charge follows a circular path.

We know that, charged parties experience magnetic force while moving in perpendicular magnetic field.

  • Magnetic force = qvB

In this circular motion, magnetic force acts as centripetal force.

  • Centripetal force = mv²/r

∴ qvB = mv²/r

∴ qB = mv/r

r = mv/qB
