Given :

  • Mass of empty relative density bottle=24.5g
  • Mass of relative density bottle filled with water=56.2g
  • Mass of relative density bottle filled with liquid=51.2g

To Find:

Relative density of the liquid.

Solution :

•Mass of water in bottle :-

Mw = 56.2 - 24.5

\dashrightarrow\: \underline{\boxed{\bf{\purple{Mw = 31.7g}}}}

•Mass of liquid in water:-

ML = 51.2 - 24.5

\dashrightarrow\: \underline{\boxed{\bf{\purple{ML =26.7g}}}}

Volume of given liquid and water will be same as they fill same bottle.

Relative density of given liquid:-

\dashrightarrow\: \underline{\boxed{\bf{\pink{Dr= DL /Dw}}}}

\dashrightarrow\: \sf\ Dr = \Large\ \frac{(\frac{ML}{V})}{(\frac{Mw}{V})}

\dashrightarrow\: \sf\ Dr= \Large\ \frac{ML}{Mw}

\dashrightarrow\: \sf\ Dr= \Large\ \frac{26.7}{31.7}

\dashrightarrow\: \underline{\boxed{\bf{\purple{Dr= 0.8423}}}}

•°•Relative density is 0.8423.

  • Mass is the quantity of matter present in an object. its S.I.
  • Relative density of a substance is the ratio of its density to that of water. Relative density=density of a substance/density of water.
