Answer:

Absolute Error = +or- 0.1

Relative Error = ∆ā/ā= 0.1/2.4 = 0.04167

Percentage error = ∆ā/ā × 100 = 4.2% (approximately)

Explanation:

Given,

a a - ā = ∆a

2.5. 2.5 - 2.4 = 0.1

2.3. 2.3 - 2.4 = -0.1

2.8. 2.8 - 2.4 = 0.2

2.2. 2.2 - 2.4 = -0.2

2.0. 2.0 - 2.4 = -0.4

∑a= 11.8

ā = ∑a/n = 11.8/5 = 2.36 which approximately 2.4

∆ā = ∑ |∆a| / n = | 0.1 - 0.1 + 0.2 - 0.2 - 0.4) / 5

= 0.4/5 = 0.08 which is approximately equal to 0.1

Relative Error = ∆ā/ā = 0.1/2.4 = 0.04167

Percentage error = ∆ā/ā × 100 = 4.2% (approximately)
