1.For H2O molecule -

2.Relative mass of hydrogen (H) = 1u.

3.Relative mass of oxygen (O) = 16u.

4.According to the formula of water contains 2 hydrogen atoms,

5.So, relative mass of water = 2 *( 1u ) + 16u.

= 18u.

6.So, Relative mass of water = 18u.

Given,

The water molecule is given.

The molar mass of Hydrogen = 1 u

The molar mass of oxygen = 16 u

To find,

We have to find the relative molecular mass of water.

Solution,

The relative molecular mass of water is 18 u.

We can simply find the molecular mass of water by substituting the mass of hydrogen and oxygen in it.

The molecular formula of H₂O  = 2H +0

                                                   = 2(1) + 16

                                                   = 18 u

Hence, the relative molecular mass of water is 18 u.
