Calculate the resistance of 0.01 N solution of an
electrolyte whose equivalent conductivity is 420
ohm-'cm equiv(The cell constant of the cell is

Normality = 0.01 N

Equivalent conductivity = 420 ohm-cm

Cell constant = 0.88 cm⁻¹

To find =

Resistance of the cell = ?

Solution :

  • Equivalent conductivity = k×1000 / N
  • k = l/ R×a
  • Aeq = l×1000 / R×a
  • 420 = 1000×0.88 / R
  • R = 1000×0.88 / 420
  • R = 2 ohm

The resistance of the cell is 2 ohm
