Calculate the resistance of a wire 1.0km long and 0.50mm diameter if the resistivity of Copper is 1.7*10^-8ohms meter

Given,

Length of wire is 1.0km or we can say 1000m

Diameter of wire is 0.50mm or we can say 0.5 × 10^-3 m

Resistivity is 1.7×10^-8

Now resistance = resistivity × l/a

= (1.7×10^-8 × 1000)/0.5×10^-3

= 3.4×10^-2 ohm
