Calculate the resultant force applied on the rope during the game of tug of war where team A is pulling the rope with 100N and team B is pulling the rope with 125N .​

in the game of tug of war ∅ is 180° because the rope is pulled from the opposite ends.

cos180° is -1

So, resultant = √100²+125²+2×100×125×(-1) = 25

∴ resultant is 25 N

Short Cut trick:-

when the ∅ is 180°, the resultant is simply the difference of the two vectors.

i.e 125-100 = 25 N
