Safe compressive from Euler's formula is 381.560 KN

Given:

Internal dia = 100 mm

Outer dia = 150 mm

Youngs modulus = 95 Gpa = 95*10^{3} Mpa

one end fixed one end hinged

FOS = 5

To find

Safe compressive load by Euler's formula

Solution:

We need to find a crippling load

P=\frac{\pi ^{2}EI }{L^{2} }      (Here L is the effective length for One end fixed one end hinged = 0.7* original size)

P=\frac{\pi ^{2}95*10^{3}\frac{\pi }{64} 150^{4}-100^{4}    }{(10000*0.7)^{2} }

   = 381.560 KN

The safe compressive load is 381.560 KN
