To calculate the shaded area = Area of bigger - area of smaller

Let's go with Heron's Formulae

Area of bigger

s= a+b+c/2

s= 122+120+22/2

s= 266/2

s= 133

Area=s(s-a)(s-b)(s-c)

= 133(133-122)(133-120)(133-22)

= 133×11×13×111

=2111109

= 1452.96

Now, Area of the smaller

s= a+b+c/2

s= a+b+c/2s= 22+24+26

s= 72/2

s= 36

Area=√s(s-a)(s-b)(s-c)

=36(36-22)(36-24)(36-26)

=36×12×10×8

= 34560

= 185.90

To calculate the shaded area = Area of bigger ∆- area of smaller ∆

= 1452.96-185.90

= 1267.06
