Calculate the shaded area in each of the following figures.

Step-by-step explanation:

(i) area of the quarter =( pi x (r) x (r)) / 4

=> 22/7 * 49 * 1/4

=> 38.5cm²

area of the triangle = 7 * 7 * 1/2

=> 24.5cm²

area of the figure = 24.5 + 38.5

=> 63cm²

(ii) length of the hypotenuse of the right angled triangle ( By pythagoras thm)

=> 16² + 12² = 400

√400 = 20cm

area of the triangle = 1/2 * 16 * 12

=> 96cm²

area of the semi circle

=> π r² / 2

=> 22/7 * 20 * 20 * 1/2

=> 629cm²

area of the shaded reign=

629 - 96 = 533cm²

*I'm not so sure of my calculation but i suppose it should be done like this.
