Given:

  • Principal amount (P) = Rs. 5600
  • Annual interest rate (R) = 12%
  • Time (T) = 3 years.

To Find:

  • Simple Interest(S.I.)
  • Amount to be paid at the end of three years.

Solution:

  • To find the simple interest, we are using the following formula.
  • Simple Interest, S.I. = P*R*T
  • We need the answer in rupees and not in percentage so the formula becomes,
  • Simple Interest, S.I. = \frac{P*R*T}{100}
  • Where, P - Principal amount, R - Annual interest rate, T = Time.
  • Substitute the given values we get,
  • S.I. = \frac{5600*12*3}{100}  =\frac{ 201600}{100} =2016
  • Amount to be paid at end of the year = 2,016+5600 = 7,616

Simple Interest, S.I. = Rs. 2,016.

Amount to be paid at end of three years = Rs. 7,616.
