Answer:

principle=₹5600

rate of interest=8% per annum

time = 6months =6/12yrs=1/2yrs

or, time=0.5yrs

therefore,SI= PxRxT/100

= (5600*8*0.5)/100

=(5600*8*5)/100*10 (since, 0.5=5/10)

=56*4 ( dividing 56 by 100 and converting 8/10 in simplest form dividing by 2 and then dividing 5 by 5)

=224

therefore, SI= ₹224 (answer)

The simple internet Rs. 5600 at 8% p.a. for 6 months is

Rs. 224.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Let's understand a few concepts:

To calculate the simple interest we will use the following formula:

\boxed{\bold{Simple\:Interest = \frac{Principal\times Time \times Rate}{100} }}

To convert months to years we will use the following conversion rate:

\boxed{\bold{1 \:month = \frac{1}{12} \:calender \:year}}

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Let's now solve the given problem:

The sum of money i.e., Principal = Rs. 5600

The no. of years i.e., Time = 6 months = \frac{6}{12} \:year = \frac{1}{2} \:year

The rate of interest i.e., Rate = 8% p.a.

Therefore, by substituting the given values in the above formula of simple interest, we get,

The simple interest is,

= \frac{5600 \times \frac{1}{2}\times 8 }{100}

= 56 \times \frac{1}{2}\times 8

= 28\times 8

= \bold{Rs. \:224}

Thus, the simple interest is Rs. 224.
