CALCULATE THE SPEED OF THE TIP SECOND'S HAND OF A WATCH OF LENGTH 1.5 cm. The second hand traces its path around the clock once in 1 min. The distance travelled by the tip of the hand in this time is 2 x pi x 1.5cm. Thespeed is then 3pi cm/min, which is 1.57 x 10-3 ms-1.
