Calculate the temperature at which the oxygen molecules would have the same root mean square speed as of hydrogen molecules at room temperature(=300k)​

Answer:

Vrms of hydrogen molecule

                                             

                                                      =\sqrt{3RT/M} \\=\sqrt{3R*300/2} \\=\sqrt{450R}

therefore, Vrms of oxygen molecules

                                                \sqrt{450R}              =\sqrt{3RT/M} \\=\sqrt{3RT/16} \\

                                                      450R=3RT/16

                                                      150=T/16

      Therefore,  T=150*16= 2400 K
