Fs=-Kx

where Fs=spring force

k=spring constant

x=spring stretch or compression

From Given figure Total force acting on spring =5N+5N=10N

and Total elongation=x+x=2x

∴10=-K2x

10/2=-kx

5=-kx

5N=-kx   (as tension=-kx)

∴Tensioni in the spring is 5N
