The circuit forms Wheatstone bridge :

upper and lower becomes in series :

R1 = r+r = 2r

R2= r+r= 2r

And again both R1 and R2 comes in parallel combination :

1/R eq = 1/ R1+ 1/R2

1/R eq = 1/2r + 1/2r

1/R. eq =. 2/2r

1/ R eq = 1/r

R eq = r ohm
