Calculate the total operating cost of a lossless system for a total load of 2000 MW. The fuel-cost curves for two generators are given as,
(P) = 700 +18P, +0.06(P)?
C (P) = 900 +22P, +0.03 (P.) 2?

Given data :

total load (P1 + P2 ) =2000MW

Two generator fuel cost ,

C1(P1) = 700 - 18P1 + 0.06 (P1)^2,

C2(P2) = 900 + 22P2 + 0.03(P2)^2

Finding data:

Total operating cost

The incremental cost of two are equal, so incremental cost can be given by ,

dc1 / dp1 = lemda = 0- 18 + 0.12 P1...(1)

dc1/ dp1 = lemda = 0+ 22 + 0.06 P2...(2)
