Answer:

so the radius is given = 7 cms

and the height is given = 7 cm

the total surface area = 2pi R (r + h)

2 × 22/ 7 ×7 (7+7)

44/7 ×7 (14)

44/7 × 98

4312/7

= 616

therefore the TSA of cylinder = 616 cmsquare

radius of cylinder :- 7cm

height of cylinder :- 7cm

 \bold { \underline { \underline  \orange{answer}}} \orange{→}

lateral surface area of cylinder : 308 cm²

total surface area of cylinder : 616 cm²

 \bold { \underline { \underline  \orange{solution}}} \orange{→}

we know that..

lateral surface area of cylinder :- 2πrh

so lateral surface area of this cylinder,

 \bold{A1 = 2 \times  \frac{22}{7}  \times 7 \times 7} \\  \\ \bold{  \implies \: A1 = 2 \times 22 \times 7} \\  \\ \bold { \implies \: A1 = 308 \:  {cm}^{2} } \:  \:  \:  \:

so, lateral surface area of cylinder is 308 cm²

now, we know that..

total surface area of cylinder :- 2πr( h + r )

so total surface area of this cylinder,

 \bold{A2 = 2 \times  \frac{22}{7}  \times 7(7 + 7)} \\  \\   \bold{  \implies \: A2 = 2 \times 22 \times 14} \:  \:  \:  \:  \\  \\  \bold{ \implies \: A2 = 616 \:  {cm}^{2} } \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:

so, total surface area of cylinder is 616 cm²
