Given; b=1 m,l=0.8 m and h=0.5 m

We know that, total surface area of a cuboid= 2(lb+bh+hl)

This implies, the total surface area of the box= 2(lb+bh+hl)-lb
Where, lb is the area of the lid.

So,TSA of the box= 2(bh+hl)+lb

Hence, TSA of the box= 2{(1*0.5)+(0.8*0.5)}+(1*0.8)

=2(0.5+0.4)+0.8

=1.8+0.8=2.6 m²

Hence, the total surface area of the box is 2.6 m²

Answer:

2.6 m^2

Step-by-step explanation:

given,

l=0.8, b=1, h=0.5

as we know that,

The Total Surface of Cube or a Cuboid =2(lb+bh+hl)

area   =2(1*0.8+0.8*0.5+0.5*1)

          =2*1.3

          =2.6 m^2
