An open box means it's top surface is not there. So the total surface area is the sum of lateral surface area and bottom surface area.
LSA = 2(lh+bh) = 2(1×0.5 + 0.8×0.5) = 2(0.5 + 0.4) = 1.8 m²
bottom surface area = 1×0.8 = 0.8m²
TSA = 1.8+0.8 = 2.6 m²
LSA = 2(lh+bh) = 2(1×0.5 + 0.8×0.5) = 2(0.5 + 0.4) = 1.8 m²
bottom surface area = 1×0.8 = 0.8m²
TSA = 1.8+0.8 = 2.6 m²

total surface area
1.8+0.8=2.6
t.s.a=2.6
1.8+0.8=2.6
t.s.a=2.6
