For better understanding refer to the attachment above :

___________________________

Given :

  • \sf \angle SRY \:=\:55° \\

To Find :

  • \sf Angle \:of \:Incidence \\

Solution :

  • We know that the normal makes angle of 90° with the surface .
  • To find angle of incidence we need to subtract \angle SRY from 90°

\leadsto \sf Angle \:of\:incidence\:=\:90°\:-\: \angle SRY \\

\leadsto \sf Angle\:of\:incidence\:=\:90°\:-\:55° \\

\leadsto \sf Angle\:of\:incidence\:=\:35° \\ \\

  • Angle of incidence = 35°

More Information :

  • Two laws of reflection :

  1. The angle of incidence is equal to the angle of reflection .
  2. The incident ray , reflected ray and the normal at the point of incidence all lie on the same plane .
