Answer:

The value of m in equation 12m−10=6m+2 if substituted with '2', then it is called roots of equation.

Check the result for 2:,

12m−10=6m+2

12×2−10=6×2+2

24−10=12+2

14=14

Since equality is correct, then 2 is root of the equation.
