Given  : watt governor   rotates at 60 R.P.M

To Find : vertical height

change of height when the speed will be 61 R.P.M.

Solution:

 h = g / ω²

ω = 2πN/60

N =   rpm

g = 9.8  m/s²

h = 9.8  / ( 2π * 60 /60)²

=> h = 0.2485   m

watt governor   rotates at 60 R.P.M  => vertical height = 0.2485   m

= 248.5 mm

speed will be 61 R.P.M.

h = 9.8  / ( 2π * 61 /60)²  =  0.2404 m

= 240.4 mm

change of height  =  0.2485  - 0.2404

= 0.0081  m

= 8.1 mm
