Concept:-

Here, We have Frequency of the sound wave and speed of the sound wave. We have to find the wavelength of the sound wave. To find the wavelength we use certain formula and putting all the values we get the answer.

Given:-

  • Frequency of the sound wave is 330 Hz.
  • Speed of the sound wave is 990 m/s.

To Find:-

  • Wavelength of the sound wave ?

Solution:-

Since, We use certain formula to find the wavelength of the sound wave,

\sf{\Longrightarrow Wavelength = \dfrac{velocity}{frequency}}

\sf{i.e.,\ \ \Longrightarrow \lambda = \dfrac{v}{n}}

\sf{Where,\ \lambda = wavelength}\\\sf{\ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ v = velocity}\\\sf{\ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ n = frequency}

Here, Velocity = 990 m/s

         Frequency = 330 Hz

Now, Putting all the values

\sf{\Longrightarrow \lambda = \dfrac{990}{330}}

\sf{\Longrightarrow \lambda = \dfrac{9}{3}}                     [ cancelling zeros and dividing both by 11 ]

\sf{\Longrightarrow \lambda = 3\ m}

Hence, Wavelength of the sound wave is 3 m.
