Answer:

How would you prepare 100mL of 0.5 M sodium hydroxide?

Which is the best cement for building your home?

Here, volume of sodium hydroxide = 100mL

Molar concentration = 0.5M

Molecular wt. of sodium hydroxide (NaOH) = 40

Required sodium hydroxide,w = ?

We know,

Molar conc.= (Wt.of solute÷ molecular wt.of solute)×(1000÷ volume in mL)

or, 0.5 = (w÷40)×(1000÷100)

or, w = (0.5×40)÷10

or, w = 2

Therefore, to prepare 100mL of 0.5M sodium hydroxide solution required amount of sodium hydroxide is 2 grams.
