Given:-

  • Mass ,m = 50 Kg

  • Height ,h = 5 m

  • Acceleration due to gravity ,g = 9.8 m/s²

To Find:-

  • Work done ,W

Solution:-

As we know that Work Done is defined as the product of mass and displacemet.

Here we have to calculate the work done by pump in against gravity.

W = mgh

where,

W is the Work Done

m is the Mass

g is the acceleration due to gravity

h is the height

Substitute the value we get

→ W = 50 × 9.8 × 5

→ W = 250 × 9.8

→ W = 25×98

→ W = 2450 J

Therefore,the work done by the pump is 2450 Joules.

Answer:

Given :-

  • Mass (M) = 50 kg
  • Height (H) = 5 m
  • Acceleration due to gravity (G) = 9.8 m/s²

To Find :-

Work done (W)

Solution :-

As we know that

 \huge \tt \: W = mgh

Here,

W = Work done

M = Mass

G = Acceleration due to gravity

H = Height

W = 50 × 9.8 × 5

W = 250 × 9.8

W = 2450 J

Hence work done by the pump is 2450 J.

→ When we apply a force on an object and it moves in the direction of the applied force, then we can say that we have done a work.

→ Work [W} is the product of force and the displacement caused by the force.

→ Work done can be positive, negative or zero.

→ The SI unit of work is Joule (J).
