Calculate the work done by a student in lifting 0.5kg book from the ground and keeping it on a shelf 1.5m high.

work done = mgh = 0.5 × 1.5 × 10= 0.75J

Work done = Change in potential energy

= mg (h₂ - h₁)

= 0.5 kg × 9.8 m/s² × (1.5 m - 0 m)

= 7.35 Joule

Work done to lift the load is  7.35 Joule
