Molar mass of MgCO3 is 84 gms. therefore 1 mole i.e. 6.023 x 1023 molecules of MgCO3 have a mass of 84 gms. molecules that will have 8.4 gms mass are: 6.023 x 1023 x 8.4/84 = 6.023 x 1022 Each molecule has : 12(Mg) + 6(C) + [ 3 x 8](O) = 42 protons. Therefore 6.023 x 1022 molecules will have: 6.023 x 1022 x 42 protons.
