given

m = 0.5 kg
h  = 1.5 m
g(gravitational accelration) = 10 m/sec^2

and
work done by student for lifting the books = mgh
                                                                  = 0.5 x 10 x 1.5
                                                                  = 7.5 joule

i hope it will help you
 regards
