  •  \triangle ABC \: is \: an \: isoceles \: triangle
  • AB = 15
  • BC = 15

and \:  \: D \:  \: is \: the \: point \: of \: intersction \: of \\\: altitude \: and \: side \: BC

  •  AD = 12

We know that;

AD is the altitude,hence is makes 90° with BC.

BY PYTHAGORAS THEOREM;

{AC}^{2}={AD}^{2}+{DC}^{2}

{15}^{2}={12}^{2}+{DC}^{2}

{DC}^{2}=225-144

DC=\sqrt{81}

\color{orange}\therefore DC=9

Similarly;

AD=9

But;

x=AD+DC

\implies x=9+9

\color{orange}{\boxed{\therefore x=18}}

HOPE THAT HELPS!!
