GIVEN: A hollow Cylindrical shell.. Outer radius R= 7 cm, internal radius r = 6 cm, & height h = 22 cm

TO FIND: TSA ie( external Surface area + internal surface area + area of concentric circular region at both the open ends..

External surface area = 2 pi R h = 2*pi * 7 * 22 = 308pi ………….(1)

Internal surface area = 2 pi r h = 2* pi * 6 * 22 = 264pi ………….(2)

Now, area of concentric circular region at one end = pi R² - pi r² = pi ( 7² - 6²) = pi (7+6)(7–6) = pi* 13 *1 = 13pi

So, at both the ends,area= 13pi*2 = 26pi …..(3)

So, total surface area of the cylindrical shell=

308pi + 264pi + 26pi

= 598pi cm² …………Ans
