Average speed = Total distance traveled / Total time taken.

Average velocity = Total Displacement / Total time taken


Difference between average speed and average velocity !!

Average velocity
Average velocity is obtained by dividing total displacement by total time taken.
Velocity is a vector quantity.
Hence , Average velocity is also vector quantity

Average Speed:-
Average speed is obtained by dividing total distance traveled by total time taken.
Speed is a scalar quantity.
Hence , average speed is also a vector quantity
