Let BC be x metre and AB be v meter. 

In ΔADB.

tan 60∘=BD/AB

root3= 20+x/y

In ΔABC

tan 30∘=AB/BC

1/root3 =x/y

y=x root3

Putting the value of r in equation (1)

root3=20+x/xroot3

3x = 20 + x

2x = 20 ⇒ x = 10 m

Height of the tree 20 + 10 = 30 m.

Distance between point and foot of the tree

=30/root3 = 10 root3 m
