Calorific value of fuel:-

Fuels usually produce heat energy on burning. Different fuels are responsible in producing different amount of heat on burning. The amount of heat energy that is produced on a 1 kg of fuel with complete combustion is its calorific value.

It is always expressed in kilojoule per kilogram (Kj/Kg).
