Camels can concentrate their urine to very high levels, but they’re not the ones with the greatest ability to do so. Urine concentration is measured as that of the urine compared to that of blood serum.

Animals concentrate their urine in the part of the kidney called the medulla. This is where there is a high concentration gradient in the part of the nephron (the individual functional unit of the kidney) called the Loop of Henle.
