PROBABILITY

Probability is a branch of mathematics which tells about the possibility of an event to occur.

  • If probability is 0 then the chances for the occurrence of an event is 0. It means that the event will not occur or cannot occur at all.
  • If probability is 1 then it means that the event will occur for sure.

Probability of an event always lies between 0 and 1 (including both 0 and 1).

This means that it can neither be negative nor it can be greater than 1.

The value for probability given in the question is 8/5 which in numerical form is equal to 1.6

As, I said that the range of the probability is [0,1]

and

∵ 1.6 > 1

∴ It is not possible for an event to have a probability of 8/5.
