ANSWER

YES IN BOTH CASES

Explanation:

a) in Rest the body can be in equilibrium and is called static equilibrium

Eg A book lying on a table. The weight of the book acts vertically downwards and is balanced by an equal and opposite force of reaction exerted by the table on the book vertically upwards. Thus the book is in static equilibrium

b) In motion the body can be in equilibrium and is called dynamic equilibrium

Eg : An aeroplane moves with a constant height when upward life on it balances its weight downwards

Thank u ,the ans is crct as I just studied this chapter

Equilibrium is a state at which body is very stable.

It either requires a push or pull(Force) to move it from equilibrium position.

From this we can say that generally(not always) body will in equilibrium at REST.

Examples:-

  • A car standing on the road.
  • Fan on ceiling(when its off)
  • Riding bicycle[This is an example where body is in motion but its in equilibrium], reason:if you stop bicycle it will fall unless it has any support.

HOPE IT WAS HELPFUL!!
