can a body have acceleration without change in magnitude of velocity? Explain

Yes. Velocity is a vector quantity. It has both magnitude and direction.  Acceleration is the rate of change of velocity. If an object moves with a constant speed but changes its direction, its velocity also changes even though the magnitude is constant. Therefore an object moving without any change in the magnitude  of its velocity but with change in its direction has an acceleration. For eg., a satellite orbiting the earth with a constant speed in a circular path(change in direction) has acceleration.....
